    • Opportunities arise for students to become involved with substance abuse that we may not realized. For more information, check out the following resources:

  • Academic Tutoring 
    • Concord Community Youth Center  
      • offer drop-in tutoring Mondays - Thursdays 3-8pm

      • Cost: $35/month; families who need financial assistance can apply for a scholarship to help with the fees​
    • Monument Crisis Center Tutoring Program
      • open Wednesday & Thursdays from 3-4:30pm

    • Concord Library 
      • open on Mondays from 4-6pm

  • Contra Costa County Resource Guide
    • www.211database.org - resources within CCC; ranging from housing support to insurance, substance abuse, child care, tutoring information and more...
  • Internet / Cyber Safety 
    • Apps (on your phone) that can be dangerous for kids:  



      • "Calculator%" app - looks like a normal calculator, but is actually a hidden vault to hide pictures, videos, etc.
    • Common Sense Media - gives helpful information for cyber/online and media safety for your student   
  • Knowing your Student 
    • Teen Esteem - information and resources on typical challenges today's kids face and promotes the importance of respect for self and others 
  • LGBTQ
    • PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) - meeting held on the third Tuesday evening at 7pm each month to support families, allies and people who are LGBTQ 
      • provides information about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ
      • *meetings are held at Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church (1578 Kirker Pass Rd. in Clayton) 
  • Middle School
